It’s supposed to be easy.
Communication ought to be natural – effortless. Or, at least it seems that way.
You don’t even really think about it – until there’s a problem.
You sense the pain, the frustration.
You watch helplessly as your child’s frustration builds when they are trying to express themselves, and people just aren’t understanding them.
When they have difficulty answering questions or following directions, they become more and more self-conscious.
It hurts when you – and perhaps they – notice that other children their age don’t seem to have the same difficulties. You don’t want them to fall even further behind. The good news? They don’t have to.
Help is available!
I offer one-on-one sessions that are tailored to your child’s needs and interests. We can adjust the activity in the moment, if needed.
“Are you bored with that game? Let’s pick another one!”
“Want to talk about something else? What’s on your mind today?”
Why individual therapy?
We can pause and review, if needed. Or, we can advance and move on faster if they’re ready. I love individual sessions because they allow us to truly move at your child’s pace.
And, there’s no competition – a problem inherent in group settings. It’s all about your child.
Further, in the individual sessions, we aren’t focused on where they should be compared to peers. We are focused on where they are in that moment and how to get to the next step.
Banish the frustration. Bring back the smiles and laughter.
Together, we can conquer the issues – one by one – to get your child back on track and experiencing success!
